Founders: Helen & Christina
Helen Turgut was always destined for the world of restaurants, hotels and clubs. Something about the high intensity and skill embedded in a professional kitchen contrasting with the calm friendliness of front of house service spoke to her at a deep level. She’s gone from waitress to reservations manager and is now happily ensconced in hospitality marketing. There’s much to be said for having that amount of experience on the operations side… it gives her an insight and intuition for hospitality that would be more challenging to learn from a career solely in marketing. This has been amplified by her extensive time in senior roles at some of London's best loved restaurants including The Ivy, Scott's, Daphne's, J Sheekey and The Cinnamon Club.

The lion’s share of Christina Nordhagen’s professional experience has been with hotels, having worked for such cutting-edge operators as sbe Lifestyle Hospitality, Nobu, Lore Group (including Sea Containers London) and Morgans Hotel Group. She segued into restaurants and clubs when she moved to Caprice Holdings, where she met and worked with Helen. Her ability to bring together the many different elements of hotel marketing – incorporating accommodation, F&B, events and the rest – have been instrumental in creating the well-rounded, instinctive professional she is today.

Fast forward to 2023 when both Helen and Christina had struck out on their own, working as marketing freelancers, and the spark of an idea to launch ALO Communications together became a reality. Their skills encompass a wide range of marketing and social media disciplines including business analysis and strategy, social media, email marketing, enhancing online presence and analytics, visuals and the moving image, budgeting and driving sales. ALO Communications are the keys to unlocking brand potential.
